Not what I remember at all. I may disagree with various religions, but I acknowledge their right to practice their religion of choice. I do have a big problem with Muslim treatment of women. NOWHERE in the Islamic world are women treated as equals.

Oldman: You are free to believe what you will, but not all Muslins are bad. I am not one, but my former college advisor's wife was (by choice). She was a nice person and a feminist. The Qua'ran does not devalue women-that is a side effect of extremists.

Obama is not a Muslim, but so what if he was? We have the freedom of religion and seperation of Church and State. Religion in all forms has no business in politics. I should even mention that many of the Founding Fathers were Diests, not Christians.

Understand that I am a Christian myself, but I cannot infringe upon someone just because the are Muslim, Wiccan, Buddhis, etc. I would be for any person of that nature in office as long as they get something done. Truthfully, we should be more angry at Congress than the president because they make the laws-he/she just signs or vetoes them. Both Democrats and Republicans need to pull the sticks out of their butts and find common ground. Enough if this Conservative vs Liberal nonsense.

I am also against violence and hatred from all religious backgrounds. Everyone these days are so quick to pounce just Muslims, but in fact, we Christians have done our fair share of destruction.

Clueless individuals are formed from a neoliberal viewpoint which produces workers that "produce" and not think. Not question or challenge. More than likely, you all are voting for the very people that are creating policies that are destroying critical thinking within schools. Are you aware of this? I doubt it. I have a link of a Republican senator discussing the new school standards. He stated that it was what "businesses want" (the new standards bring on a whole new level of regurgitation of facts and a lack of critical thought). I'm too lazy to find it. That in essence, IS the real mentality of concern behind much of the rants on this page.

I imagine a good portion of the graduating high school seniors think the constitution is the latest cruise ship. I would be surprised if 60 % know what the constitution is or who it's writers are. As this demographic group ages and produces yet another group of clueless individuals,it is easy to see that the American experiment is on a swift downhill slide. This slide that we continue on is why there is not more of an uprising over the "culture of intimidation" that permeates this administration. As a whole,we have forgotten just how wonderful this experiment has been and we have not passed that love of country on to the younger generations. oldman......I hear ya.

Lover: Although I find some of the constitution inspirational and fascinating, it was written under entirely different circumstances. Not so much capitalism but dwindling mercantilism coupled with an agricultural slave economy. Should this be taken into account?
