I have heard it through the grapevine that TammiJo’s Cafe owners Tammi and Joe Neighbor will by taking over the restaurant in the Plaza Shopping center previously known as Woody’s and before that Kane’s. As I hear it they will continue to operate the downtown location.

I think that it will be a great location for them – lots of parking and more room.

My sources tell me that in 2011 a Raising Cane’s will be built in Lancaster.  Click here.  Remember – you heard it here first.

I have been informed that White Cottage will reopen. It will open with the previous owner (Carrie) as the new owner.

From a reader…

In recognition of National Hamburger Month, which is celebrated in May, and the company’s 87th anniversary, White Castle System Inc. will turn back the clocks for 87 minutes of vintage-priced burgers.

On May 27, White Castle will offer the company’s Slyder burgers for 27 cents from 2 p.m. to 3:27 p.m., limit 10 burgers per customer. Selected locations in all White Castle restaurant markets will participate in the promotion.

White Castle opened its first restaurant in Wichita, Kan., in 1921, selling its burgers for 5 cents. The price of a Slyder didn’t reach the 27-cent mark until the early 1980s. While prices have always varied from city to city, the average price of a White Castle hamburger today is 53 cents.

It has been reported to Crabby that Eatza Pizza has changed hands today.  It is expected to re-open under a different business name.

The Spaghetti Shop located at 1348 Ety Road (across from Walmart) hosted an reception this evening and will open at 11:00 AM tomorrow morning. The hours will be 11AM-9PM Sunday-Thursday and 11AM-10PM Friday and Saturday. They do accept Master Card & Visa.

The facility is very nice and is well lit and roomy.

I tried the spaghetti with marinara and it was good. The marinara was nice and thick like I like it. The meatballs had a very good taste. I would definitely say that the place is worth a try, if nothing else just to have something besides burgers. I love pasta.

The new owners are Tim and Tammy Gordon of Lancaster.

One word of warning for second city ex-pats – they advertise an Italian beef sub that is unrelated to a Chicago style Italian Beef.
